LUTHER RIVERA
Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done.
Then, in Thy mercy, give us a safe lodging and a Holy rest, and peace at the last.  Amen
John Henry Newman  (circa 1826)
On Saturday, August 9, 2008 Luther Rivera was on his way to do what he loved, sharing with the world his gift of creating stone arrowheads, knives and tools.  He never made it to that event.  His health issues may have slowed him down a little in the past but they could never hold back his drive to keep pushing on.

At a time in his life when most people would be looking forward to more time on the couch, Luther never tired of preparing for the next event.  Teaching classes, putting on demonstrations, writing books, cataloging his massive arrowhead collection for Maxwell museum or just taking the time to make a little souvenir for a curious child, he was always extracting the maximum amount of life from every moment.

His gentle and generous spirit touched the lives of a great many people and the world is a better place because of it.

Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you Luther, you won't be forgotten.

As it is with a play, so it is with life -
what matters is not how long the acting lasts,
but how good it is.
